APEIRON Biologics今日宣布，它已获得奥地利、德国和丹麦监管部门的批准，以启动APN01的II期临床试验来治疗COVID-19。

APEIRON Biologics今日宣布，它已获得奥地利、德国和丹麦监管部门的批准，以启动APN01的II期临床试验来治疗COVID-19。APN01是重组人血管紧张素转化酶2（rhACE2），具有阻断COVID-19病毒感染细胞的潜力，并减轻肺损伤。II期试验旨在治疗200例重度COVID-19患者，预计第一批患者将在近期接受治疗。

当COVID-19病毒与可溶性重组人血管紧张素转化酶2（rhACE2）APN01结合时，病毒便不会与细胞表面的ACE2结合，这意味着该病毒不再能够感染细胞。同时，APN01减少了肺部有害的炎症反应，并防止急性肺损伤（急性呼吸窘迫综合征，ARDS）。

 APEIRON Biologics首席执行官Peter Llewellyn-Davies表示：“我们感谢奥地利、德国和丹麦的监管机构迅速批准了这项研究，APN01有望成为首个被批准用于治疗针对COVID-19病毒的药物”。
